How these tools fit together
Start with the statement. The converter turns any bank's PDF, CSV or Excel export into clean data — and the format tools (PDF to CSV, PDF to Excel, QIF, OFX) plus the software-specific guides (QuickBooks, Xero, YNAB, Quicken, GnuCash) get that data into whatever you actually use. Every conversion identifies the merchant on each line, so the output is readable, not just structured.
Then act on what you find. A charge you don't recognise goes through the charge identifier or the bank-code lookup; recurring charges go to the subscription finder and, when you want out, the cancellation guides and letter generator. Fees and disputes have their own calculators and letter tools above.
Everything here is free, works without a bank login, and follows the same privacy rules as the converter: card numbers redacted, files deleted within 24 hours.
Questions about the free tools
Are these tools really free?
Yes — every tool on this page is free to use without an account. The statement converter is the one exception with limits: a free account converts one statement page every 24 hours, and paid plans add volume. The calculators, lookups, letter generators and redactor have no limits at all.
Do the tools see my bank account?
No. Nothing here connects to your bank — the tools work on text you paste or files you upload. Uploaded statements have card and account numbers redacted before anything is stored, and the original file is deleted within 24 hours.
Which tool do I want for a charge I don't recognise?
Start with the charge identifier — paste the exact statement line and it names the likely merchant with evidence. If the line has a bank code (POS, ACH, DD), the bank-code lookup explains it; if it has a four-digit category code, that's the MCC lookup. Recurring mystery charges are usually subscriptions — the recurring-charge finder catches those.
Can I use the letters the generators produce as-is?
They're solid starting points written around the details you enter — cancellation letters cite your account and dates, chargeback letters follow the structure banks expect. Read them before sending, adjust anything specific to your situation, and keep a copy; they're templates plus your facts, not legal advice.
