Convert Ally Bank statements to CSV or Excel
Turn Ally Bank statement exports — PDF or CSV — into clean CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX or JSON. Unlike a plain converter, every transaction comes back matched to a real merchant name with category and confidence, and subscriptions, recurring charges and bank fees are detected automatically.

Getting your statement out of Ally Bank
Ally Bank is online-only, and its statements and forms live behind login at ally.com under Statements and Forms. Ally documents its export options unusually clearly: transaction history downloads as CSV or Quicken QFX straight from each account's transaction list.
Download a PDF statement (web)
- Log in at ally.com.
- Open the Statements and Forms area.
- Choose the account and statement period.
- Download the PDF.
Checking, money market, and savings statements cycle monthly; CDs and IRAs cycle quarterly.
Export transactions to CSV or QFX
- Log in and select the account.
- Scroll to the Transaction History.
- Select the download icon.
- Choose CSV (for spreadsheets) or QFX (for Quicken) and save the file.
These steps and both formats come from Ally's own help pages.
Download bill pay history (web only)
- Log in on the website (not the app).
- Go to Payments > Bill Pay > Activity.
- Download your paid and pending payments as a CSV file.
Ally says the file excludes canceled and failed payments, and bill-pay information is available for 24 months.
Menu wording shifts between app versions; the destinations above stay stable — confirm against Ally Bank's official help. Statements up to 5 MB / 5,000 rows are supported; card numbers are redacted before storage, the original file is deleted within 24 hours, and reports stay in your dashboard only as long as your plan keeps them.
What Ally Bank gives you natively
Statements are PDFs. Transaction history exports as CSV or Quicken (QFX) via the download icon on each account's transaction list — both formats are named in Ally's official help. Bill pay activity has its own separate CSV download on the web. Ally does not advertise OFX or QIF, but the QFX file covers Quicken users, and the CSV covers spreadsheets and most accounting imports.
How far back you can go
Ally's help pages state you can view up to 18 months of account activity online. Statements go much further: even if you close all your Ally accounts, you can still view statements and tax forms for the last 7 years online, and a recently closed account keeps full online access for 60 days. Bill pay history is available for 24 months. That 7-year post-closure access is unusual — most banks cut you off at closure — so Ally is one of the few banks where old statements remain self-serve.
Ally Bank statement quirks worth knowing
- Ally sends one combined monthly statement covering all your Ally deposit accounts, so a single PDF can contain checking, savings, and money market sections.
- Account activity (18 months) and statements (years) have very different online windows — if you need old transaction data, pull it from the archived statement PDFs, not the activity export.
- Statement cycles differ by product: monthly for checking/savings/money market, quarterly for CDs and IRAs, so "missing months" for a CD are normal.
- Bill pay exports live in a completely different place (Payments > Bill Pay > Activity) than transaction exports, and the two files don't overlap cleanly.
Don't just convert it — understand it
The same upload also produces a full analysis of your Ally Bankstatement: every merchant identified with confidence levels, subscriptions with renewal estimates and yearly cost, duplicate and price-rise flags, bank & FX fees, and a printable report. That's the part a plain converter can't do.

Frequently asked questions
How do I export Ally Bank transactions to CSV?
Log in, select the account, scroll to the Transaction History, and select the download icon. You can save the activity as a CSV file or a Quicken QFX file.
How far back can I see my Ally statements?
Statements and tax forms remain viewable online for the last 7 years — even after you close all your Ally accounts. Day-to-day account activity, by contrast, shows up to 18 months online.
Can I get Ally statements after closing my account?
Yes. A closed account keeps normal online access for 60 days, and statements and tax forms for the last 7 years stay viewable online after that — unusual generosity among US banks.
Does Ally work with Quicken?
Yes — the transaction download icon offers a Quicken (QFX) file alongside CSV, and Ally publishes help content specifically for Quicken users.
How do I convert a Ally Bank statement to CSV or Excel?
Download a statement from your Ally Bank app or online banking (PDF or CSV both work), upload it above, and download the result as CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX or JSON. Every transaction is parsed, and merchants are identified automatically.
Does it work with Ally Bank PDF statements?
Yes. Structured exports are parsed exactly; PDF layouts go through AI structure analysis, and scanned PDFs are read page-by-page with AI vision — every date and amount is re-validated by code afterwards.
Is my statement safe?
Card and account numbers are redacted before anything is stored, the original file is deleted within 24 hours on every plan, analysed reports stay in your dashboard only for your plan's retention period (24 hours on Free), and we never ask for your bank login.
Is it free?
Converting a statement is free with an account (1 page per 24 hours). Paid plans add more pages, bulk uploads and AI web research on stubborn merchants.
