Getting your statement out of Citibank

Citi keeps PDF statements in the Statements area of Citi Online and the mobile app, with multi-year windows that differ by product and enrollment. Transaction exports are handled from the account activity view, but the exportable window is much shorter than the statement archive, per widespread user reports.

Download PDF statements

  1. Sign in to Citi Online (or the Citi Mobile app).
  2. Select the account you need.
  3. Open Statements from the account page.
  4. Choose the statement period, then view or download it as a PDF.

Export transactions from account activity

  1. Sign in on the desktop site and open the account.
  2. Scroll to the recent activity section and set your date range with the filter.
  3. Use the download/export control on the activity list.
  4. Pick a format — users consistently report CSV plus personal-finance formats such as Quicken-compatible files — and export.

Per user reports and third-party guides, the exportable activity window is short (on the order of a few months), so older data has to come from PDF statements.

Get older statements

  1. Check the Statements list first — Citi's archive reaches back years for many products.
  2. For statements older than what's listed, contact Citi customer service to request copies.

Menu wording shifts between app versions; the destinations above stay stable — confirm against Citibank's official help. Statements up to 5 MB / 5,000 rows are supported; card numbers are redacted before storage, the original file is deleted within 24 hours, and reports stay in your dashboard only as long as your plan keeps them.

What Citibank gives you natively

Statements are PDF. For activity exports, Quicken-community threads and converter guides report CSV as the reliable option, with Quicken-compatible and similar personal-finance formats offered inconsistently across Citi account types — Citi's direct Quicken support has been a recurring pain point in user forums. There is no native Excel statement export; the CSV is the spreadsheet path.

How far back you can go

Citi's own banking pages say you get immediate access to up to 24 months of online statements (viewable and printable as PDFs), with email alerts when each new one lands. Older, archived statements can be requested and become available within roughly 24–48 hours; per Citi's request guide, fetched copies then stay downloadable for about 7 days, so save them once they arrive. Online statements aren't offered on IRAs or stand-alone CDs.

Citibank statement quirks worth knowing

  • Citi credit card statements show both a sale date and a post date per charge, and the two regularly differ — exports keyed to one date won't match a statement keyed to the other.
  • Merchant descriptors are typically all-caps with store numbers appended to the merchant name, per converter guides.
  • On multi-card accounts, charges are grouped by cardmember, so one statement interleaves several cards' activity in separate blocks.
  • Users report the CSV export's column layout differs between Citi banking and Citi card accounts, so a single parser doesn't fit both.

Don't just convert it — understand it

The same upload also produces a full analysis of your Citibankstatement: every merchant identified with confidence levels, subscriptions with renewal estimates and yearly cost, duplicate and price-rise flags, bank & FX fees, and a printable report. That's the part a plain converter can't do.

Frequently asked questions

How far back can I get Citibank statements?

Citi keeps several years of statements available online, with the exact window depending on the product and when you enrolled in paperless. Anything older than what's shown in your Statements list has to be requested through customer service.

Can I export Citi transactions to Excel or CSV?

Yes — from the account activity view on the desktop site you can filter a date range and export, with CSV being the dependable format. The catch, per widespread user reports, is that only a short recent window is exportable; older months are PDF-statement-only.

Does Citi work with Quicken?

Inconsistently. Users report that direct Quicken-format downloads vary by Citi account type and have broken at times, with CSV remaining the fallback. If your account offers a Quicken-compatible file, it appears in the same export dialog as CSV.

Why is my Citi statement date different from my transaction date?

Citi card statements record a sale date and a post date for each charge. Your purchase happened on the sale date, but it counts toward the statement period based on the post date.

How do I convert a Citibank statement to CSV or Excel?

Download a statement from your Citibank app or online banking (PDF or CSV both work), upload it above, and download the result as CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX or JSON. Every transaction is parsed, and merchants are identified automatically.

Does it work with Citibank PDF statements?

Yes. Structured exports are parsed exactly; PDF layouts go through AI structure analysis, and scanned PDFs are read page-by-page with AI vision — every date and amount is re-validated by code afterwards.

Is my statement safe?

Card and account numbers are redacted before anything is stored, the original file is deleted within 24 hours on every plan, analysed reports stay in your dashboard only for your plan's retention period (24 hours on Free), and we never ask for your bank login.

Is it free?

Converting a statement is free with an account (1 page per 24 hours). Paid plans add more pages, bulk uploads and AI web research on stubborn merchants.
