Convert Chase bank statements to CSV or Excel

Turn Chase statement exports — PDF or CSV — into clean CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX or JSON. Unlike a plain converter, every transaction comes back matched to a real merchant name with category and confidence, and subscriptions, recurring charges and bank fees are detected automatically.

Getting your statement out of Chase

Chase keeps monthly statements as PDFs inside online banking and the Chase Mobile app, with up to 7 years available depending on account type. Transaction activity can be downloaded separately from the account activity view in spreadsheet and personal-finance formats.

Download PDF statements on chase.com

  1. Sign in to chase.com.
  2. Open the main menu and choose Statements & documents.
  3. Pick the account and the year you need.
  4. Use the open or save control next to a statement to view it as a PDF and download it.

Statements & documents covers all your accounts in one place, so you don't need to open each account first.

Export transactions from the activity view

  1. Sign in and open the account whose transactions you need.
  2. Go to the account activity list and look for the download icon near the activity header.
  3. Choose a date range and a file type — spreadsheet (CSV) is the option most people want; Quicken- and QuickBooks-compatible files are also offered per Chase user guides.
  4. Download the file and open it in Excel or your accounting tool.

The activity export only reaches recent history; anything older lives in the PDF statements.

In the Chase Mobile app

  1. Sign in to the Chase Mobile app.
  2. Tap the profile icon in the top corner.
  3. Choose Statements & documents inside the document manager.
  4. Select the account, year, and statement to open it as a PDF, then share or save it.

Menu wording shifts between app versions; the destinations above stay stable — confirm against Chase's official help. Statements up to 5 MB / 5,000 rows are supported; card numbers are redacted before storage, the original file is deleted within 24 hours, and reports stay in your dashboard only as long as your plan keeps them.

What Chase gives you natively

Monthly statements are PDF only. The separate account-activity download offers a spreadsheet (CSV) option, and third-party and Quicken-community documentation consistently describes Quicken (QFX) and QuickBooks (QBO) options alongside it. There is no native Excel (.xlsx) statement export — the CSV opens in Excel. Checking and credit card CSVs use different column layouts (the checking file carries a running balance column; the card file does not), per converter-tool documentation.

How far back you can go

Chase's own help pages say you can securely access up to 7 years of statements online, depending on the account type. Statements issued before you enrolled in online access may not appear, so your real window can be shorter. The activity export reaches a much shorter recent window than the statement archive. For statements older than what appears online, you have to contact Chase customer service and request copies.

Chase statement quirks worth knowing

  • Debit card lines on checking statements are prefixed with wording like CARD PURCHASE plus an embedded MM/DD transaction date, so the description carries a second date that differs from the posting date.
  • ACH items use verbose descriptors with ORIG CO NAME and ORIG ID fields, which pack the originator's company name and ID into one long line.
  • Checking statements show a running balance per transaction, while credit card statements do not — a common source of confusion when reconciling exports.
  • Per converter guides, the checking CSV and credit card CSV have different headers (the card file has no balance column), so a parser tuned for one breaks on the other.

Don't just convert it — understand it

The same upload also produces a full analysis of your Chasestatement: every merchant identified with confidence levels, subscriptions with renewal estimates and yearly cost, duplicate and price-rise flags, bank & FX fees, and a printable report. That's the part a plain converter can't do.

Frequently asked questions

How far back can I get Chase statements?

Chase says you can access up to 7 years of statements online, depending on the account type. For anything older, or for statements issued before you had online access, call Chase customer service and request copies.

Can I export Chase transactions to Excel?

Not directly to .xlsx, but yes in practice: the account activity view has a download option with a spreadsheet (CSV) choice, and CSV opens straight into Excel. Older transactions that have rolled out of the activity view are only available inside PDF statements.

Can I download Chase statements in the mobile app?

Yes. In the Chase Mobile app, tap the profile icon, choose Statements & documents, then pick the account, year, and statement. It opens as a PDF you can save or share.

Why doesn't my Chase CSV match my statement?

The activity export uses posting dates and current descriptors and only covers recent history, while the PDF statement is a fixed monthly snapshot. Pending items, date-range edges, and the embedded MM/DD dates in card descriptors are the usual culprits.

How do I convert a Chase statement to CSV or Excel?

Download a statement from your Chase app or online banking (PDF or CSV both work), upload it above, and download the result as CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX or JSON. Every transaction is parsed, and merchants are identified automatically.

Does it work with Chase PDF statements?

Yes. Structured exports are parsed exactly; PDF layouts go through AI structure analysis, and scanned PDFs are read page-by-page with AI vision — every date and amount is re-validated by code afterwards.

Is my statement safe?

Card and account numbers are redacted before anything is stored, the original file is deleted within 24 hours on every plan, analysed reports stay in your dashboard only for your plan's retention period (24 hours on Free), and we never ask for your bank login.

Is it free?

Converting a statement is free with an account (1 page per 24 hours). Paid plans add more pages, bulk uploads and AI web research on stubborn merchants.
