Getting your statement out of Cash App
Cash App generates monthly account statements covering your Cash App balance and Cash Card activity, available in the app under Documents and on the web at cash.app/account. The web login is also where a CSV export of activity lives — the app itself only hands out statement documents.
Download a monthly statement in the app
- Open Cash App and tap your profile icon in the top-right corner.
- Scroll down and tap Documents.
- Select Account Statements.
- Pick the month and download the statement.
Download statements on the web
- Sign in at cash.app/account in a browser.
- Open Documents (left-hand menu).
- Select Account Statements, choose the year and month, and view/download the statement.
Export activity as CSV (web only)
- Sign in at cash.app/account in a desktop browser.
- Open your activity/statements area.
- Use the Export CSV option to download your transaction history.
The CSV export only exists on the web — the mobile app offers statement documents, not spreadsheets.
Menu wording shifts between app versions; the destinations above stay stable — confirm against Cash App's official help. Statements up to 5 MB / 5,000 rows are supported; card numbers are redacted before storage, the original file is deleted within 24 hours, and reports stay in your dashboard only as long as your plan keeps them.
What Cash App gives you natively
Monthly account statements download as PDF documents, in the app or on the web. A CSV export of transaction activity is available when you sign in at cash.app on the web (Cash App's investing and Bitcoin sides also produce their own separate monthly statements and a transactions CSV for taxes). There is no in-app CSV option, so people working from their phone end up converting the PDF statement instead.
How far back you can go
Cash App does not publish a hard retention limit; statements are generated monthly and accumulate in Documents shortly after each month ends, and each statement covers a single month with beginning and ending balances. Investing statements and tax documents live in the same Documents area but are separate files from the balance/Cash Card statement.
Cash App statement quirks worth knowing
- On an external bank statement, Cash App activity typically appears with a 'CASH APP*' prefix — often followed by a $cashtag or name rather than a recognizable merchant.
- One statement covers both P2P payments and Cash Card purchases: person-to-person lines carry names/$cashtags while Cash Card lines carry merchant names, so the same file mixes two very different transaction shapes.
- Cash App splits its paperwork by product — balance/Cash Card statements, investing statements, Bitcoin activity, and tax forms are all separate documents in the Documents section.
- The CSV export lives only behind the web login, which surprises users who do everything in the app.
