Getting your statement out of Current

Current is an app-first banking product (banking services provided by partner banks), and your monthly account statements live inside the Current app rather than on a web portal. Statements are generated after each month closes and are the primary export Current offers.

Download a monthly statement in the Current app

  1. Open the Current app and tap your Account.
  2. Tap Documents.
  3. Select Statements.
  4. Pick the month you need and download or share the statement.

New statements are added after the end of each month, so the current in-progress month is not available yet.

Review recent transactions before the statement exists

  1. Open the Current app.
  2. Tap your balance on the home screen to see your transaction history.
  3. Use in-app chat support if you need a statement you cannot find.

Menu wording shifts between app versions; the destinations above stay stable — confirm against Current's official help. Statements up to 5 MB / 5,000 rows are supported; card numbers are redacted before storage, the original file is deleted within 24 hours, and reports stay in your dashboard only as long as your plan keeps them.

What Current gives you natively

Current provides monthly account statements as documents you download from the app; they arrive as PDF-style statements. Current does not document any CSV or spreadsheet export of transaction history, so the monthly statement file is what you work with — if you need spreadsheet data, you convert the statement.

How far back you can go

Current does not publish an official retention window for statements. Structurally, statements accumulate month by month in the Documents section for as long as your account is open, and each new statement is added after the month ends. For history older than what the app shows, you contact Current support through in-app chat.

Current statement quirks worth knowing

  • Statements are app-only: there is no full web banking portal to log into for downloads, so you retrieve statements from your phone and share them to yourself.
  • No CSV export exists, so bookkeeping workflows always start from the statement document.
  • Because Current partners with sponsor banks, external transfers you make to or from Current can appear on your other bank's statement under a descriptor referencing Current rather than a bank name you recognize.
  • The in-progress month never appears in Statements — only the transaction feed shows it — which trips people up at month-end reconciliation.

Don't just convert it — understand it

The same upload also produces a full analysis of your Currentstatement: every merchant identified with confidence levels, subscriptions with renewal estimates and yearly cost, duplicate and price-rise flags, bank & FX fees, and a printable report. That's the part a plain converter can't do.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get a bank statement from Current?

In the Current app, tap Account, then Documents, then Statements, and pick the month you want. Statements appear after each month ends.

Can I export my Current transactions to CSV or Excel?

Current doesn't offer a documented CSV export. Download the monthly statement from the app and convert it to CSV or Excel with a statement converter.

Can I download Current statements from a computer?

Current is app-first, so statements are downloaded in the mobile app. Download the file on your phone, then share or email it to yourself to use it on a computer.

Why can't I see this month's statement in Current?

Statements are only generated after the month closes. Until then, check your transaction history by tapping your balance on the home screen.

How do I convert a Current statement to CSV or Excel?

Download a statement from your Current app or online banking (PDF or CSV both work), upload it above, and download the result as CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX or JSON. Every transaction is parsed, and merchants are identified automatically.

Does it work with Current PDF statements?

Yes. Structured exports are parsed exactly; PDF layouts go through AI structure analysis, and scanned PDFs are read page-by-page with AI vision — every date and amount is re-validated by code afterwards.

Is my statement safe?

Card and account numbers are redacted before anything is stored, the original file is deleted within 24 hours on every plan, analysed reports stay in your dashboard only for your plan's retention period (24 hours on Free), and we never ask for your bank login.

Is it free?

Converting a statement is free with an account (1 page per 24 hours). Paid plans add more pages, bulk uploads and AI web research on stubborn merchants.
