Getting your statement out of Deutsche Bank
Deutsche Bank delivers official Kontoauszüge as PDFs into your digitales Postfach (digital mailbox) in online banking and the Mobile App, where they're stored indefinitely. Separately, recent transactions (Umsätze) can be exported from the transaction view as CSV or MT940.
Download PDF statements from the digitales Postfach
- Log in at meine.deutsche-bank.de with your Deutsche Bank ID, or open the Deutsche Bank Mobile app (first access requires a one-time TAN).
- Open your Postfach (digital mailbox).
- Select Kontoauszüge and pick the statement you need.
- Download the PDF and save it locally.
Statements, securities documents, and credit card settlements are delivered to the Postfach automatically.
Export recent transactions as CSV or MT940
- Log in to online banking and select the account in your account overview.
- Open Umsätze (transactions).
- Set the period you want to export.
- Choose Exportieren and pick CSV or MT940.
Only transactions still available in the online transaction view can be exported — the export doesn't reach into the PDF statement archive.
Menu wording shifts between app versions; the destinations above stay stable — confirm against Deutsche Bank's official help. Statements up to 5 MB / 5,000 rows are supported; card numbers are redacted before storage, the original file is deleted within 24 hours, and reports stay in your dashboard only as long as your plan keeps them.
What Deutsche Bank gives you natively
Official monthly Kontoauszüge are PDF, delivered to the digitales Postfach. The transaction view exports CSV and MT940 for recent activity. There's a gap between the two: the PDF archive is complete but PDF-only, while the machine-readable CSV/MT940 export only covers the online transaction window — which is why German accountants so often end up converting Deutsche Bank PDFs.
How far back you can go
Deutsche Bank states that documents in the digitales Postfach are stored indefinitely ('unbefristet gespeichert'), so PDF statements remain available for the life of the account. The online Umsatz export, by contrast, is limited to the transactions still shown online — third-party accounting guides commonly put this window at around 12 months, though Deutsche Bank doesn't publish a single figure. For older machine-readable data you must work from the archived PDFs.
Deutsche Bank statement quirks worth knowing
- SEPA transactions display the Verwendungszweck (payment reference) as multi-line text that can wrap across several statement lines in the PDF, together with fields like Mandatsreferenz and Gläubiger-ID for direct debits — parsers must stitch these back together.
- Statements show both Buchungstag (booking date) and Wertstellung/Valuta (value date), and the two can differ around weekends and holidays, which causes off-by-a-day mismatches when reconciling.
- The CSV uses German number formatting — comma as decimal separator and period as thousands separator — and German column headers, so most non-German tools misread amounts without conversion.
- The complete history lives only in PDF form in the Postfach; CSV/MT940 covers just the recent online window, so long-range analysis almost always starts from the PDFs.
Don't just convert it — understand it
The same upload also produces a full analysis of your Deutsche Bankstatement: every merchant identified with confidence levels, subscriptions with renewal estimates and yearly cost, duplicate and price-rise flags, bank & FX fees, and a printable report. That's the part a plain converter can't do.

Frequently asked questions
How do I download my Deutsche Bank Kontoauszug?
Log in at meine.deutsche-bank.de or the Mobile App, open the Postfach, select Kontoauszüge, and download the PDF. Statements are placed there automatically each period.
Can I export Deutsche Bank transactions to Excel or CSV?
Yes, for recent activity: open the account's Umsätze view in online banking, set the period, and export CSV (or MT940). For older periods you'll need to convert the archived PDF statements.
How long does Deutsche Bank keep my statements?
PDFs in the digitales Postfach are stored indefinitely according to Deutsche Bank. The machine-readable Umsatz export only covers transactions still visible online — roughly the last year, per accounting-tool guides.
Why won't my accounting software read the Deutsche Bank CSV?
The file uses German number formatting (comma decimals) and German headers, and it isn't DATEV-formatted. Either remap the columns and number format on import, or use the MT940 export instead.
How do I convert a Deutsche Bank statement to CSV or Excel?
Download a statement from your Deutsche Bank app or online banking (PDF or CSV both work), upload it above, and download the result as CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX or JSON. Every transaction is parsed, and merchants are identified automatically.
Does it work with Deutsche Bank PDF statements?
Yes. Structured exports are parsed exactly; PDF layouts go through AI structure analysis, and scanned PDFs are read page-by-page with AI vision — every date and amount is re-validated by code afterwards.
Is my statement safe?
Card and account numbers are redacted before anything is stored, the original file is deleted within 24 hours on every plan, analysed reports stay in your dashboard only for your plan's retention period (24 hours on Free), and we never ask for your bank login.
Is it free?
Converting a statement is free with an account (1 page per 24 hours). Paid plans add more pages, bulk uploads and AI web research on stubborn merchants.
