Convert Discover bank statements to CSV or Excel
Turn Discover statement exports — PDF or CSV — into clean CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX or JSON. Unlike a plain converter, every transaction comes back matched to a real merchant name with category and confidence, and subscriptions, recurring charges and bank fees are detected automatically.

Getting your statement out of Discover
Discover cardmembers view and download monthly statements from the online Account Center at discover.com, where a statement is selected by billing period and downloaded from the statement view. Discover Bank (savings/checking) uses a separate online portal from the credit card side.
Download a card statement (web)
- Log in at discover.com.
- Open Statements for your card account.
- Select the statement you want from the Activity Period drop-down list.
- Click Download on the upper-right side of the statement.
These steps come from Discover's own help center article on downloading online statements.
Export recent activity (web)
- Log in at discover.com.
- Open Recent Activity for the account.
- Set the date range you need.
- Use the download option to export the posted transactions as a spreadsheet file.
Pending transactions are not included in exports — only posted activity.
View activity in the Discover app
- Open the Discover app and log in.
- Open the Activity screen for balances and recent transactions.
- For full statement downloads and longer history, switch to discover.com in a browser.
Discover's mobile FAQ says the app shows the last 20 posted transactions — the website is where the deep history lives.
Menu wording shifts between app versions; the destinations above stay stable — confirm against Discover's official help. Statements up to 5 MB / 5,000 rows are supported; card numbers are redacted before storage, the original file is deleted within 24 hours, and reports stay in your dashboard only as long as your plan keeps them.
What Discover gives you natively
Statements download as PDF from the statement view. For transaction data, Discover's activity export produces spreadsheet files — third-party import guides consistently describe CSV and Excel downloads of posted transactions, and report that Discover discontinued its Quicken/QuickBooks (QFX/OFX) download formats, a change also discussed in personal-finance software communities. So treat Discover as PDF-plus-CSV today: if you need QFX or OFX for accounting software, you will have to convert the CSV or the PDF statement yourself.
How far back you can go
Discover's official mobile FAQ states you can see up to 24 months of transactions by logging in to discover.com and using the Recent Activity and Statement links, while the app itself shows only the last 20 posted transactions. Discover does not publish a definitive number of years of statements on its public pages; its own guidance is to download and keep copies of statements you may need, since online access is a convenience rather than an archive guarantee.
Discover statement quirks worth knowing
- Third-party parsing guides note Discover's transaction export uses a single signed Amount column with five fields (Trans. Date, Post Date, Description, Amount, Category) — and unusually writes purchases as positive numbers, the opposite sign convention from most card issuers.
- Every transaction carries two dates — transaction date and post date — and the statement groups by post date, so a CSV filtered by transaction date will not reconcile cleanly against a statement period.
- Discover includes its own merchant category on each row of the export, which is handy but reflects Discover's categorization, not the raw merchant descriptor.
- Discover credit cards and Discover Bank deposit accounts live in separate online portals with separate logins and separate statement areas — card steps don't apply to the bank side.
Don't just convert it — understand it
The same upload also produces a full analysis of your Discoverstatement: every merchant identified with confidence levels, subscriptions with renewal estimates and yearly cost, duplicate and price-rise flags, bank & FX fees, and a printable report. That's the part a plain converter can't do.

Frequently asked questions
How do I download my Discover statement as a PDF?
Log in at discover.com, open Statements, pick the billing period from the Activity Period drop-down, and click Download at the upper right of the statement view.
Can I export Discover transactions to Excel or CSV?
Yes — use the Recent Activity page on discover.com, set your date range, and download the posted transactions as a spreadsheet file. Note that pending transactions are excluded.
Does Discover support Quicken (QFX) or OFX downloads?
Users and import guides report Discover dropped its Quicken/QuickBooks download formats, leaving spreadsheet-style exports. If your software needs QFX/OFX, convert the CSV or PDF statement instead.
How much history can I see on Discover?
Discover's FAQ says up to 24 months of transactions are viewable on discover.com through the Recent Activity and Statement links; the mobile app only shows your last 20 posted transactions.
How do I convert a Discover statement to CSV or Excel?
Download a statement from your Discover app or online banking (PDF or CSV both work), upload it above, and download the result as CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX or JSON. Every transaction is parsed, and merchants are identified automatically.
Does it work with Discover PDF statements?
Yes. Structured exports are parsed exactly; PDF layouts go through AI structure analysis, and scanned PDFs are read page-by-page with AI vision — every date and amount is re-validated by code afterwards.
Is my statement safe?
Card and account numbers are redacted before anything is stored, the original file is deleted within 24 hours on every plan, analysed reports stay in your dashboard only for your plan's retention period (24 hours on Free), and we never ask for your bank login.
Is it free?
Converting a statement is free with an account (1 page per 24 hours). Paid plans add more pages, bulk uploads and AI web research on stubborn merchants.
