Getting your statement out of N26

N26 splits its exports into two document types: monthly balance statements (PDF only) and account activity reports for custom date ranges (PDF or CSV). CSV export exists only in the web app, not the mobile app.

Monthly balance statements (app)

  1. Open the N26 app and go to the Finances tab.
  2. Select the account or Space you want.
  3. Tap the gear icon and choose Balance statements.
  4. Pick the month you need and download the PDF.

Monthly balance statements (web)

  1. Log in to the N26 web app and open the Home tab.
  2. Choose the account or Space, then select Downloads.
  3. Under Bank statements, pick the month and download the PDF.

Custom date range export with CSV (web only)

  1. In the web app, go to Home, select the account or Space, then Downloads.
  2. Under Account Activity, enter your start and end dates.
  3. Choose PDF or CSV and select Download.

CSV is not available in the mobile app — you must use the web app for spreadsheet exports.

Menu wording shifts between app versions; the destinations above stay stable — confirm against N26's official help. Statements up to 5 MB / 5,000 rows are supported; card numbers are redacted before storage, the original file is deleted within 24 hours, and reports stay in your dashboard only as long as your plan keeps them.

What N26 gives you natively

Monthly balance statements come as PDF only. Custom account activity reports come as PDF or CSV, but only through the web app. N26 states its statements are official documents fully valid without a signature or stamp, which matters in Germany where stamped statements are often requested.

How far back you can go

Monthly balance statements accumulate month by month and remain downloadable per month; N26's help pages don't publish a cutoff for how far back statements or activity exports reach. If you're closing an account, download your statements first — N26's document access ends with the account.

N26 statement quirks worth knowing

  • Spaces are sub-accounts with their own statements, and since N26 gives some Spaces their own IBANs, transfers between Spaces and the main account appear as real transaction lines on both sides.
  • The CSV export is a transaction activity report, not a formal statement — the official monthly document is PDF only, so converters are often fed the PDF even though a CSV path exists.
  • As a German SEPA bank, N26 transactions carry the payment reference (Verwendungszweck) as the main descriptor, and the CSV includes payee, IBAN, and reference as separate columns.
  • MoneyBeam payments to other N26 users appear with the contact's name rather than an IBAN-style counterparty, which looks different from ordinary SEPA lines in exports.

Don't just convert it — understand it

The same upload also produces a full analysis of your N26statement: every merchant identified with confidence levels, subscriptions with renewal estimates and yearly cost, duplicate and price-rise flags, bank & FX fees, and a printable report. That's the part a plain converter can't do.

Frequently asked questions

How do I export N26 transactions to CSV?

Only via the web app: Home, select the account or Space, Downloads, then under Account Activity set a date range and choose CSV. The mobile app offers PDF only.

Why can't I find CSV export in the N26 app?

It doesn't exist there. N26 restricts CSV to the browser-based web app; the mobile app only produces PDF balance statements.

Do N26 statements need a stamp to be accepted?

N26 says its statements are official documents, fully valid without a signature or stamp.

Do N26 Spaces have their own statements?

Yes — you select the account or Space before downloading, and each Space's statements and activity are generated separately from the main account.

How do I convert a N26 statement to CSV or Excel?

Download a statement from your N26 app or online banking (PDF or CSV both work), upload it above, and download the result as CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX or JSON. Every transaction is parsed, and merchants are identified automatically.

Does it work with N26 PDF statements?

Yes. Structured exports are parsed exactly; PDF layouts go through AI structure analysis, and scanned PDFs are read page-by-page with AI vision — every date and amount is re-validated by code afterwards.

Is my statement safe?

Card and account numbers are redacted before anything is stored, the original file is deleted within 24 hours on every plan, analysed reports stay in your dashboard only for your plan's retention period (24 hours on Free), and we never ask for your bank login.

Is it free?

Converting a statement is free with an account (1 page per 24 hours). Paid plans add more pages, bulk uploads and AI web research on stubborn merchants.
