Getting your statement out of NAB

NAB provides up to seven years of statements in NAB Internet Banking and the last two years in the NAB app, and lets you view and export up to two years (731 days) of transaction history. Exports come out as a spreadsheet, QIF file or PDF.

Download statements in NAB Internet Banking

  1. Log in to NAB Internet Banking with your NAB ID and password.
  2. Open the statements section for your account.
  3. Choose the statement period you need — up to seven years' worth are available.
  4. Download the PDF.

The NAB app carries the last two years of statements; use Internet Banking on a desktop for the full seven-year archive.

Export transaction history

  1. Log in to NAB Internet Banking.
  2. Open the Accounts menu and select Transaction history.
  3. Choose your account and date range, using search and Filters if needed.
  4. Select Export and download in your preferred format.

Business exports via NAB Connect

  1. Log in to NAB Connect.
  2. Run an account transaction report for the accounts and dates you need.
  3. Download the extract in CSV, PDF or QIF format.

Menu wording shifts between app versions; the destinations above stay stable — confirm against NAB's official help. Statements up to 5 MB / 5,000 rows are supported; card numbers are redacted before storage, the original file is deleted within 24 hours, and reports stay in your dashboard only as long as your plan keeps them.

What NAB gives you natively

NAB officially lists three export formats from personal Internet Banking transaction history: spreadsheet, QIF file or PDF. Business channels add more structure — NAB Connect account transaction reports download as CSV, PDF or QIF. Statements themselves are PDFs. The NAB app is for viewing statements and transactions rather than producing export files, so do exports from a desktop browser.

How far back you can go

NAB states you have access to up to seven years' worth of statements in NAB Internet Banking and the last two years in the NAB app. Transaction history is viewable and exportable for up to two years (731 days), and you can print that two-year history directly from Internet Banking. For statements older than seven years, you need to contact NAB to request archived copies, which is handled as a manual records request and may be charged under NAB's fee schedule.

NAB statement quirks worth knowing

  • PayID/Osko fast payments carry the payer's free-text description on the transaction line and arrive near-instantly, so their statement wording differs from slower direct-entry transfers.
  • BPAY payments are described by biller name plus the biller code and customer reference number from the payment.
  • Card purchases include the merchant name with a location suffix, and NAB's transaction history view can show enriched merchant details that don't match the raw text on the PDF statement.
  • The spreadsheet export and the PDF statement can word the same transaction differently, so reconcile exports against statements by date and amount rather than description text.

Don't just convert it — understand it

The same upload also produces a full analysis of your NABstatement: every merchant identified with confidence levels, subscriptions with renewal estimates and yearly cost, duplicate and price-rise flags, bank & FX fees, and a printable report. That's the part a plain converter can't do.

Frequently asked questions

How do I export NAB transactions to a spreadsheet?

Log in to NAB Internet Banking, open the Accounts menu and select Transaction history, choose your account and date range, then select Export and pick the spreadsheet option. QIF and PDF are the other export choices.

How far back does NAB transaction history go?

NAB lets you view and export up to two years (731 days) of transactions. Beyond that, use statements — Internet Banking holds up to seven years of them.

Why can't I see older statements in the NAB app?

The NAB app carries the last two years of statements, while NAB Internet Banking on a browser gives access to up to seven years. Log in on a desktop for older periods.

How do I get NAB statements older than seven years?

They are not available online, so contact NAB to request archived records. This is a manual retrieval process and fees may apply under NAB's schedule of fees.

How do I convert a NAB statement to CSV or Excel?

Download a statement from your NAB app or online banking (PDF or CSV both work), upload it above, and download the result as CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX or JSON. Every transaction is parsed, and merchants are identified automatically.

Does it work with NAB PDF statements?

Yes. Structured exports are parsed exactly; PDF layouts go through AI structure analysis, and scanned PDFs are read page-by-page with AI vision — every date and amount is re-validated by code afterwards.

Is my statement safe?

Card and account numbers are redacted before anything is stored, the original file is deleted within 24 hours on every plan, analysed reports stay in your dashboard only for your plan's retention period (24 hours on Free), and we never ask for your bank login.

Is it free?

Converting a statement is free with an account (1 page per 24 hours). Paid plans add more pages, bulk uploads and AI web research on stubborn merchants.
