Getting your statement out of RBC Royal Bank
RBC Royal Bank delivers monthly statements as PDF eStatements inside RBC Online Banking and the RBC Mobile app, with up to 7 years of archived statements available. Recent transaction activity can also be downloaded separately from the account activity view for use in spreadsheets and personal finance software.
Download a PDF statement in RBC Online Banking
- Sign in to RBC Online Banking.
- From the Accounts Summary page, select Statements/Documents at the top right of the screen.
- On the Account Documents page, choose the account type (bank, credit card, investments, loans or mortgage, or tax documents).
- Use the dropdown menu to pick the statement period you need.
- Open the statement and download or save the PDF to your device.
You need to be enrolled in eStatements for an account before archived statements appear here.
View statements in the RBC Mobile app
- Sign in to the RBC Mobile app.
- Tap More in the navigation bar.
- Under Services, tap Statements.
- Choose the account, then open the statement you want and use your phone's share or save option to keep the PDF.

- Look for the download or export option above the transaction list.
- Pick the date range you want.

Menu wording shifts between app versions; the destinations above stay stable — confirm against RBC Royal Bank's official help. Statements up to 5 MB / 5,000 rows are supported; card numbers are redacted before storage, the original file is deleted within 24 hours, and reports stay in your dashboard only as long as your plan keeps them.
What RBC Royal Bank gives you natively
Monthly statements are PDF only. For transaction downloads, RBC Online Banking offers spreadsheet-friendly CSV alongside personal-finance formats; guides for RBC customers commonly document CSV plus Quicken-style QFX/OFX and QuickBooks-compatible files, with CSV being the format most people use for Excel or Google Sheets. The RBC mobile app is for viewing statements rather than exporting transaction files, so do exports from a desktop browser.
How far back you can go
RBC states you can access up to 7 years of archived eStatements once an account is enrolled in electronic statements. Transaction downloads from the account activity screen cover a much shorter recent window — third-party guides note credit card downloads reach back only a few months — so anything older has to come from the monthly PDF statements. For statements older than what appears online, you need to contact RBC or visit a branch to request copies, and RBC's standard account fee schedule can apply to reprints of historical records.
RBC Royal Bank statement quirks worth knowing
- Interac e-Transfer entries appear as their own statement lines showing the direction of the transfer and the other party's name rather than any account number — Interac's system shares the sender's name and message, not banking details.
- Debit and credit card purchases typically print the merchant's trading name followed by a city or location suffix, which often differs from the store brand you remember paying.
- RBC statement lines lean on abbreviations for channels and transaction types, so the same payment can look different depending on whether it was made at an ATM, online, or by pre-authorized debit.
- The transaction download and the PDF statement describe the same transaction slightly differently, which matters if you are reconciling a CSV export against the official statement.
Don't just convert it — understand it
The same upload also produces a full analysis of your RBC Royal Bankstatement: every merchant identified with confidence levels, subscriptions with renewal estimates and yearly cost, duplicate and price-rise flags, bank & FX fees, and a printable report. That's the part a plain converter can't do.

Frequently asked questions
How do I download my RBC statement as a PDF?
Sign in to RBC Online Banking, select Statements/Documents from the top right of the Accounts Summary page, pick the account and statement period on the Account Documents page, then open and save the PDF. In the RBC Mobile app, go to More, then Statements under Services.
How far back do RBC eStatements go?
RBC gives you access to up to 7 years of archived eStatements for enrolled accounts. Anything older needs to be requested from RBC directly, which can involve a records-retrieval process and fees.
Can I export RBC transactions to Excel or CSV?
Yes — open the account's transaction history in RBC Online Banking and use the download option above the transaction list to export recent activity, with CSV being the spreadsheet-friendly choice. The export window is limited to recent months, so older data has to be pulled from PDF statements.
Why can't I see statements for one of my RBC accounts?
Archived eStatements only build up for accounts switched to electronic delivery. If an account stayed on paper statements, enrol it in eStatements from the Statements/Documents area; from then on statements accumulate online.
How do I convert a RBC Royal Bank statement to CSV or Excel?
Download a statement from your RBC Royal Bank app or online banking (PDF or CSV both work), upload it above, and download the result as CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX or JSON. Every transaction is parsed, and merchants are identified automatically.
Does it work with RBC Royal Bank PDF statements?
Yes. Structured exports are parsed exactly; PDF layouts go through AI structure analysis, and scanned PDFs are read page-by-page with AI vision — every date and amount is re-validated by code afterwards.
Is my statement safe?
Card and account numbers are redacted before anything is stored, the original file is deleted within 24 hours on every plan, analysed reports stay in your dashboard only for your plan's retention period (24 hours on Free), and we never ask for your bank login.
Is it free?
Converting a statement is free with an account (1 page per 24 hours). Paid plans add more pages, bulk uploads and AI web research on stubborn merchants.
