Convert Truist bank statements to CSV or Excel

Turn Truist statement exports — PDF or CSV — into clean CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX or JSON. Unlike a plain converter, every transaction comes back matched to a real merchant name with category and confidence, and subscriptions, recurring charges and bank fees are detected automatically.

Getting your statement out of Truist

Truist delivers monthly PDF statements through Truist online banking and the Truist Mobile app, covering accounts migrated from both legacy BB&T and legacy SunTrust. Paperless online statements are free and are provided each statement cycle once you enroll through digital banking.

Download a PDF statement (web)

  1. Sign in at truist.com.
  2. Select the account you need a statement for.
  3. Open the statements/documents area for that account.
  4. Choose the statement month you want and download the PDF.

Truist may combine several deposit accounts onto one statement, so check the whole document if you hold multiple accounts.

Download a PDF statement (mobile app)

  1. Open the Truist Mobile app and sign in.
  2. Go to the account.
  3. Open its statements/documents section.
  4. Pick the statement period and save the PDF to your device.

Export transactions (web)

  1. Sign in at truist.com and open the account's activity view.
  2. Use the download option on the transaction list.
  3. Pick a date range (or a recent-period preset).
  4. Download the file — CSV is the default file type.

Truist also supports Direct Connect, so Quicken and QuickBooks can pull transactions straight from Truist Online Banking without a manual file.

Menu wording shifts between app versions; the destinations above stay stable — confirm against Truist's official help. Statements up to 5 MB / 5,000 rows are supported; card numbers are redacted before storage, the original file is deleted within 24 hours, and reports stay in your dashboard only as long as your plan keeps them.

What Truist gives you natively

Monthly statements come as PDF. From the account activity view on the web you can download transactions as a file, with CSV as the default type, and Truist publishes an official Direct Connect guide for connecting Quicken and QuickBooks to Truist Online Banking. Truist does not advertise a QIF export, and the transaction download is a web feature rather than an in-app one, so plan to use a desktop browser for CSV work.

How far back you can go

Truist's own pages put the online window at up to 18 months: wealth clients can “monitor up to 18 months of statements and transaction information”, and small-business online banking lets you “download or print up to 18 months of account history”, including images of paid checks and deposit tickets. For statements older than that, request copies through support — a fee schedule may apply.

Truist statement quirks worth knowing

  • Truist is the merger of BB&T and SunTrust, so older statements for migrated accounts may carry legacy BB&T or SunTrust formatting, and pre-merger history may not be visible in Truist digital banking at all.
  • Truist can combine multiple deposit accounts onto a single monthly statement, which confuses parsers and reviewers expecting one account per document.
  • Quicken community users report that Truist changed its CSV export layout in late 2025, so import templates built on the old column order may need remapping.
  • The CSV download and the PDF statement are generated from different views — the CSV comes from the activity feed with your chosen date range, so its period rarely lines up exactly with a statement cycle.

Don't just convert it — understand it

The same upload also produces a full analysis of your Truiststatement: every merchant identified with confidence levels, subscriptions with renewal estimates and yearly cost, duplicate and price-rise flags, bank & FX fees, and a printable report. That's the part a plain converter can't do.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get my Truist bank statement as a PDF?

Sign in at truist.com or in the Truist Mobile app, open the account, go to its statements/documents section, choose the month, and download the PDF. Paperless statements are free once you enroll.

Can I export Truist transactions to CSV or Excel?

Yes — on the website, open the account's activity, use the download option, choose a date range, and the file defaults to CSV, which opens directly in Excel. The mobile app is for viewing statements; do CSV exports from a desktop browser.

How far back do Truist online statements go?

Truist keeps a rolling window of statements in online banking rather than your full account history — third-party guides put it at roughly 18 months. For anything older, contact Truist to request statement copies.

Can I still see my old BB&T or SunTrust statements?

Only what was carried into Truist digital banking. Pre-merger statements may be missing or use the legacy bank's layout, and for older pre-merger records you will need to request copies from Truist.

How do I convert a Truist statement to CSV or Excel?

Download a statement from your Truist app or online banking (PDF or CSV both work), upload it above, and download the result as CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX or JSON. Every transaction is parsed, and merchants are identified automatically.

Does it work with Truist PDF statements?

Yes. Structured exports are parsed exactly; PDF layouts go through AI structure analysis, and scanned PDFs are read page-by-page with AI vision — every date and amount is re-validated by code afterwards.

Is my statement safe?

Card and account numbers are redacted before anything is stored, the original file is deleted within 24 hours on every plan, analysed reports stay in your dashboard only for your plan's retention period (24 hours on Free), and we never ask for your bank login.

Is it free?

Converting a statement is free with an account (1 page per 24 hours). Paid plans add more pages, bulk uploads and AI web research on stubborn merchants.
