Convert U.S. Bank statements to CSV or Excel
Turn U.S. Bank statement exports — PDF or CSV — into clean CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX or JSON. Unlike a plain converter, every transaction comes back matched to a real merchant name with category and confidence, and subscriptions, recurring charges and bank fees are detected automatically.

Getting your statement out of U.S. Bank
U.S. Bank documents its transaction download cleanly: a download icon in the Transactions tile produces CSV, Quicken, or QuickBooks files covering up to 18 months, on the full website only. PDF statements are handled separately and reach further back than the download window.
Download PDF statements
- Sign in to usbank.com.
- Open the account and go to its statements and documents area.
- Select the statement period you need.
- Open and save the PDF.
The mobile app also surfaces electronic statements — U.S. Bank points app users to statements since the transaction download is web-only.
Export transactions as CSV, QFX, or QBO
- Sign in on the full website (not the app) and select the account.
- In the Transactions tile, select the download icon in the top right corner.
- Choose the date range and file format — Spreadsheet (.CSV), Quicken (.QFX), or QuickBooks (.QBO).
- Select Download and save the file.
U.S. Bank says you can view and download up to 18 months of transaction history; anything older must come from statements.
Direct Connect for accounting software
- If you want Quicken or QuickBooks to pull transactions automatically rather than via manual file downloads, enroll in U.S. Bank's Direct Connect service by phone.
- Once enrolled, connect your software using the bank's Direct Connect credentials and let it sync activity.
Menu wording shifts between app versions; the destinations above stay stable — confirm against U.S. Bank's official help. Statements up to 5 MB / 5,000 rows are supported; card numbers are redacted before storage, the original file is deleted within 24 hours, and reports stay in your dashboard only as long as your plan keeps them.
What U.S. Bank gives you natively
The transaction download offers exactly three formats — Spreadsheet (.CSV), Quicken (.QFX), and QuickBooks (.QBO) — from the Transactions tile on the full website; the option is not available in the U.S. Bank Mobile App. Statements are PDF. Direct Connect integration with Quicken/QuickBooks is available as a separate enrollment for automatic syncing.
How far back you can go
U.S. Bank's knowledge base says you can view and download up to 18 months of transaction history through the download tool; transactions older than that must be found on your statements instead. Electronic statements reach back further — several years for most accounts — though U.S. Bank doesn't pin a single number on it in the pages we verified. For statements older than what's online, contact U.S. Bank customer service to request copies.
U.S. Bank statement quirks worth knowing
- Debit card lines typically read DEBIT PURCHASE - VISA followed by the merchant, date, and location, while online bill payments appear as WEB AUTHORIZED PMT descriptors, per converter guides and user reports.
- Because the download tool is capped at 18 months and works best in date-range chunks, longer histories end up stitched together from multiple files, which invites duplicates at the seams.
- Statement PDFs present deposits and withdrawals in separate sections with a daily balance summary, rather than one continuous ledger.
- The mobile app shows activity but offers no export at all — a hard split between where you can see data and where you can extract it.
Don't just convert it — understand it
The same upload also produces a full analysis of your U.S. Bankstatement: every merchant identified with confidence levels, subscriptions with renewal estimates and yearly cost, duplicate and price-rise flags, bank & FX fees, and a printable report. That's the part a plain converter can't do.

Frequently asked questions
How do I download U.S. Bank transactions to Excel?
On the full website, select the account, click the download icon in the top right of the Transactions tile, choose your date range and the Spreadsheet (.CSV) format, then select Download. The CSV opens directly in Excel.
How far back can I export U.S. Bank transactions?
Up to 18 months through the download tool, per U.S. Bank's knowledge base. Older transactions are only available on your statements, so beyond 18 months you're working from PDFs.
Can I download transactions in the U.S. Bank app?
No — U.S. Bank states the download option is only available on the full website, not the mobile app. In the app, your fallback is opening electronic statements.
Does U.S. Bank support Quicken and QuickBooks?
Yes, two ways: manual downloads in Quicken (.QFX) and QuickBooks (.QBO) format from the Transactions tile, or Direct Connect enrollment (set up by phone) for automatic syncing.
How do I convert a U.S. Bank statement to CSV or Excel?
Download a statement from your U.S. Bank app or online banking (PDF or CSV both work), upload it above, and download the result as CSV, Excel, QIF, OFX or JSON. Every transaction is parsed, and merchants are identified automatically.
Does it work with U.S. Bank PDF statements?
Yes. Structured exports are parsed exactly; PDF layouts go through AI structure analysis, and scanned PDFs are read page-by-page with AI vision — every date and amount is re-validated by code afterwards.
Is my statement safe?
Card and account numbers are redacted before anything is stored, the original file is deleted within 24 hours on every plan, analysed reports stay in your dashboard only for your plan's retention period (24 hours on Free), and we never ask for your bank login.
Is it free?
Converting a statement is free with an account (1 page per 24 hours). Paid plans add more pages, bulk uploads and AI web research on stubborn merchants.
