Getting your statement out of Venmo
Venmo issues monthly account statements that you download one month at a time as CSV files, from either the app's Settings or venmo.com on the web. Venmo's help center describes CSV as the download format — there is no official PDF statement download.
Download a statement on venmo.com (recommended)
- Sign in at venmo.com in a desktop browser.
- Click Statements in the sidebar.
- Select the month and year from the dropdown.
- Click Download CSV.
Download a statement in the Venmo app
- Go to the Me tab, then open Settings.
- Tap Statements.
- Use the dropdown to pick the year and month.
- Choose to download the file or have it emailed to you.
Some files are too large to download to your device — Venmo emails those to your account email instead.
Browse transaction history without downloading
- In the app, open the Me tab and view the Transactions list under your profile.
- On the web, sign in and click the person silhouette icon to see your personal feed.
Menu wording shifts between app versions; the destinations above stay stable — confirm against Venmo's official help. Statements up to 5 MB / 5,000 rows are supported; card numbers are redacted before storage, the original file is deleted within 24 hours, and reports stay in your dashboard only as long as your plan keeps them.
What Venmo gives you natively
CSV is the official statement format — Venmo's help center notes statements are downloadable CSV files, and does not offer a PDF download. Each statement covers exactly one month; there is no custom date-range export, so a year of history means twelve separate CSV downloads. If you need a PDF, your practical option is printing the on-screen statement view from your browser.
How far back you can go
Venmo does not publish an official retention limit in its help center — the interface simply lets you select a year and month. The statement picker reaches back a limited number of years (third-party guides commonly report around three), and for anything older you would need to contact Venmo support. Oversized statements are emailed rather than downloaded.
Venmo statement quirks worth knowing
- On your linked bank statement, Venmo activity shows up under a VENMO descriptor — cashouts, funding pulls, and Venmo debit card purchases all reference Venmo rather than the person or store you paid.
- The CSV mixes P2P payments, purchases, transfers, and fees in one file, with 'From' and 'To' person fields doing the work that a merchant column does on a bank statement.
- Payment notes (the emoji-laden memo line) come along in the export, which is often the only clue to what a P2P line was actually for.
- One month per file: there's no multi-month or custom-range export, so longer periods mean stitching multiple CSVs together.
