Streaming service (British & international TV)
How to cancel your Acorn TV subscription
Acorn TV is AMC Networks' streaming service for British and international mysteries and dramas, sold either directly at acorn.tv or through platform billing on Apple, Google Play, Roku, Amazon (Fire TV or Prime Video Channels), Samsung, and some cable providers. Cancellation must happen wherever the billing started — Acorn's help center warns explicitly that deleting the app or channel from your device does not cancel the subscription. After cancelling, access runs to the end of the paid period.
On your statement it usually appears as ACORNUSA, ACORN TV, ACORNMEDIA, APPLE.COM/BILL (Apple-billed), AMAZON CHANNELS / AMZN DIGITAL (Amazon-billed), ROKU FOR ACORN TV (Roku-billed). Not sure the charge is really Acorn TV? Identify it first.
Cancel a direct acorn.tv subscription
- Go to acorn.tv in a browser and log in.
- Select "My Acorn TV" at the top right.
- Choose "Manage Account" from the dropdown.
- Select the option to cancel your membership and confirm.
Cancel if billed through Apple
- Open Settings on your iPhone/iPad and tap your name, then "Subscriptions" (or manage subscriptions in the App Store on Apple TV/Mac).
- Select Acorn TV.
- Tap "Cancel Subscription".
Cancel if billed through Amazon (Prime Video Channels / Fire TV)
- Sign in at amazon.com and open "Accounts & Lists".
- Go to "Memberships & Subscriptions".
- Find the Acorn TV channel and select "Cancel Subscription" (for Prime Video Channels, this can also be done under Prime Video → Channels).
- Follow the prompts to confirm.
Cancel if billed through Roku
- Go to my.roku.com in a browser and sign in.
- Open "Manage Subscriptions".
- Select "Unsubscribe" next to Acorn TV.
- Alternatively, on your Roku device: highlight the Acorn TV channel on the home screen, press the * button, and choose "Manage subscription".
Cancel if billed through Google Play, Samsung, or a cable provider
- Google Play: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Acorn TV → Cancel.
- Samsung: manage the subscription in your Samsung account's subscription settings.
- Comcast/Xfinity or another cable provider: cancel the Acorn TV add-on through that provider's account portal or support line.
Acorn's help center routes each billing source to its own instructions — if you're unsure who bills you, your bank descriptor (ACORNUSA vs APPLE.COM/BILL vs Amazon vs Roku) is the tell.
Refunds, timing and what you'll still be charged
Cancelling keeps your access alive through the end of the current paid term — cancel mid-month and you can keep watching until the period ends. AMC does not give refunds or credits for partial billing periods, partial subscription terms, or unwatched content unless the law requires it, which matters most on the annual plan, where cancelling right after a renewal still means the year was paid. Subscriptions billed by Apple, Google, Amazon, Roku, or Samsung follow that platform's refund process, not Acorn's — Apple and Google in particular have their own refund request flows that occasionally succeed close to a charge.
Watch out for these
- Deleting the Acorn TV app or removing the channel from your device does not cancel anything — Acorn's own help center leads with this warning. Billing continues until you cancel at the source.
- You must cancel wherever you signed up: an Amazon-billed Acorn TV subscription is invisible to acorn.tv account settings, and vice versa. Mismatched cancellation attempts are the top cause of "I cancelled but I'm still charged".
- The annual plan renews as one full-year charge with no partial refund after it posts, so calendar the renewal date if you're on it.
- A free trial converts to a paid subscription automatically unless cancelled before the trial ends — and trial cancellation also has to happen at the billing platform.
Cancellation flows change — confirm against Acorn TV's current account or help page (official help).
After you cancel: make sure it stuck
- Verify the cancellation where you did it: acorn.tv Manage Account should show the membership ending, or the platform (Apple/Amazon/Roku/Google) should list Acorn TV as expiring rather than renewing.
- Note the end-of-access date — continued access until then is normal, not a failed cancellation.
- Check your statement after the next billing date for ACORNUSA, Apple, Amazon, or Roku charges tied to Acorn TV; if one posts, you likely have a second subscription on a different platform.
- Generate a paper trail with the free cancellation-letter tool — useful if billing continues and you need proof.
- If it keeps charging after you cancel, follow the escalation playbook before disputing.
While you're at it — find the ones you forgot
Acorn TV is rarely the only recurring charge. Upload a statement and find every subscription — trials that converted, quiet price rises, duplicates — each with its yearly cost, so you can clear them in one sitting.

Acorn TV cancellation FAQs
I cancelled Acorn TV but I'm still being charged. What happened?
Most often the subscription is billed by a different platform than the one you cancelled on — for example, you cancelled on acorn.tv but Amazon or Apple holds the actual billing. Match the statement descriptor to the biller (ACORNUSA = direct, APPLE.COM/BILL = Apple, Amazon Channels = Amazon, Roku = Roku) and cancel there.
Does deleting the Acorn TV app cancel my subscription?
No. Acorn's help center states this directly: removing the app or channel doesn't stop billing. You have to cancel through your account on acorn.tv or through the platform that bills you.
Will I get a refund for the rest of my Acorn TV billing period?
No — access continues to the end of the paid period instead. AMC's policy is no refunds or credits for partial periods or unwatched content unless required by law. Platform-billed subscriptions follow that platform's refund rules, so an Apple or Google refund request is worth trying if the charge is recent.
How do I cancel Acorn TV on my Roku?
Either from the device (highlight the Acorn TV channel, press *, choose Manage subscription) or from a browser at my.roku.com under Manage Subscriptions, then Unsubscribe next to Acorn TV.
Why is ACORNUSA on my bank statement?
That descriptor is Acorn TV (streaming service (british & international tv)). If you don't recognise it, confirm any charge with our free lookup before cancelling or disputing — descriptors often name a biller or platform rather than the service itself.
Acorn TV is still charging me after I cancelled — what now?
First check you cancelled in the right place: if you subscribed through Apple, Google, Amazon or a TV provider, the service's own website can't stop that billing. If it still charges, keep your cancellation confirmation and follow our guide for a subscription that keeps charging after you cancel — and only dispute with your bank as a last resort.
