How to cancel your Scentbird subscription
Scentbird is a monthly fragrance subscription that ships designer perfume and cologne in travel-size vials, billed on a recurring cycle until you cancel. Monthly plans can be cancelled from your account at any time, but prepaid 3-, 6-, and 12-month term plans cannot be ended mid-term — you can only stop them from auto-renewing. Cancelling stops future billing; it does not recall a shipment that has already been billed or processed.
On your statement it usually appears as SCENTBIRD, SCENTBIRD INC, PAYMENT TO SCENTBIRD INC, SCENTBIRD.COM NEW YORK NY. Not sure the charge is really Scentbird? Identify it first.
Cancel on the Scentbird website
- Log in at scentbird.com in a browser.
- Open your account menu and go to the subscription management page.
- Click "Cancel Subscription" and work through the retention prompts (Scentbird will offer pause and skip options first).
- Confirm the cancellation and wait for the confirmation email — the cancellation is not complete without it.
If the cancel button is missing, Scentbird's own guidance is that it can be unavailable while a shipment is mid-cycle; it reappears after the current shipment has been sent and billed.
Cancel in the Scentbird app
- Open the Scentbird app and go to Account.
- Tap "Manage Subscription".
- Tap "Cancel Subscription" and follow the prompts.
- Check your email for the cancellation confirmation.
Cancel by support ticket or email
- Submit a ticket through the Scentbird Help Center (you do not need to be logged in), or email support@scentbird.com.
- State clearly that you want to cancel and stop auto-renewal, and include the email address on your account.
- Keep the reply as proof of the cancellation date.
This is the required route for 3-, 6-, or 12-month term plans: they cannot be cancelled mid-term, but the Customer Experience team can turn off auto-renewal so the plan ends when the term does.
Refunds, timing and what you'll still be charged
Cancelling stops future charges but does not refund a month that has already billed — if your billing date has passed, that order still processes and ships. Monthly billing typically runs on the 5th of the month, though your date can vary based on when you signed up, so check the next-charge date shown in your subscription settings and cancel at least a day ahead of it. Prepaid term plans are not refunded mid-term; stopping auto-renewal lets the remaining months play out and then end. For a disputed charge, go through the Help Center or support@scentbird.com.
Watch out for these
- Prepaid 3-, 6-, and 12-month plans cannot be cancelled mid-term — you can only stop the auto-renewal, and that requires contacting the Customer Experience team.
- The cancel button can disappear from your account while a shipment is in progress; Scentbird says to wait until the shipment has been sent, after which it reappears.
- Cancelling on your billing date itself can be too late — users report being charged after cancelling on the day billing runs, so leave at least a full day of buffer.
- Cancelling wipes your fragrance queue. If you resubscribe later, you rebuild it from scratch.
Cancellation flows change — confirm against Scentbird's current account or help page (official help).
After you cancel: make sure it stuck
- Confirm you received Scentbird's cancellation email — no email means the cancellation may not have gone through.
- Log back in and check that the subscription status shows cancelled and no next billing date is listed.
- Watch your statement past your usual billing day (often the 5th) for one more cycle to confirm no new SCENTBIRD charge posts.
- Generate a paper trail with the free cancellation-letter tool — useful if billing continues and you need proof.
- If it keeps charging after you cancel, follow the escalation playbook before disputing.
While you're at it — find the ones you forgot
Scentbird is rarely the only recurring charge. Upload a statement and find every subscription — trials that converted, quiet price rises, duplicates — each with its yearly cost, so you can clear them in one sitting.

Scentbird cancellation FAQs
Why was I charged by Scentbird after I cancelled?
The most common causes are cancelling after the billing date (that month's order still processes), cancelling without completing every confirmation step, or being on a term plan that only had auto-renewal disabled. Check for the cancellation confirmation email — if you never got one, the cancellation likely didn't complete. Contact support@scentbird.com with the charge date.
Can I pause Scentbird instead of cancelling?
Yes. From the Manage Subscription page you can skip one, two, or three months at a time. While skipped or paused you aren't billed and no shipments go out, and billing resumes automatically afterward.
Can I cancel a 6-month or 12-month Scentbird plan early?
No — Scentbird's terms say term plans can't be cancelled mid-term. You can contact the Customer Experience team to turn off auto-renewal so the plan ends at the end of its term instead of renewing.
Do I still get my perfume if I cancel after being billed?
Yes. If the charge already went through, that order is processed and ships as normal. Cancellation only stops future billing cycles.
Why is SCENTBIRD on my bank statement?
That descriptor is Scentbird (fragrance subscription box). If you don't recognise it, confirm any charge with our free lookup before cancelling or disputing — descriptors often name a biller or platform rather than the service itself.
Scentbird is still charging me after I cancelled — what now?
First check you cancelled in the right place: if you subscribed through Apple, Google, Amazon or a TV provider, the service's own website can't stop that billing. If it still charges, keep your cancellation confirmation and follow our guide for a subscription that keeps charging after you cancel — and only dispute with your bank as a last resort.
