How to cancel your Amazon Music Unlimited subscription

Amazon Music Unlimited is a paid add-on that is separate from the Amazon Music (Prime) tier included with a Prime membership - a distinction that causes most of the confusion around its charges. If you signed up through Amazon, you cancel from the Amazon Music settings page or Amazon's memberships and subscriptions list; if you signed up through Apple, Google, or a mobile provider, you must cancel with them. Access continues until the end of the paid period, after which Unlimited titles in your library gray out.

On your statement it usually appears as Amazon Music*, AMZN Digital, Amazon Digital Svcs amzn.com/bill, AMZN.COM/BILL. Not sure the charge is really Amazon Music Unlimited? Identify it first.

On the Amazon website

Sign in to Amazon and go to Your Amazon Music Settings (also reachable via Account > Memberships & Subscriptions, or amazon.com/manageyoursubscriptions).
Find the Amazon Music Unlimited section.
In the Subscription Renewal details, select the Cancel option.
Confirm through the prompts, declining any retention offers you do not want.

In the Amazon Music app

Open the Amazon Music app and go to Settings.
Find Amazon Music Unlimited.
Select Cancel Subscription and confirm.

This works only if Amazon bills you directly - app-store signups will not show a cancel option here.

If you subscribed through Apple, Google, or a mobile provider

For Apple: cancel from Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your device.
For Google Play: cancel from the Play Store subscriptions list.
For a mobile provider bundle: contact the provider that bills you and cancel the add-on there.

Amazon states refunds for these subscriptions follow the third party's own policies, not Amazon's.

Refunds, timing and what you'll still be charged

After cancelling you keep Amazon Music Unlimited until the end of the period you have paid for; Amazon does not advertise automatic prorated refunds, and after the end date any Unlimited titles saved to your library gray out with playback removed. If you were charged for a plan you did not intend to keep - for example an accidental signup through an Echo device - Amazon customer service handles refund requests case by case. Third-party-billed subscriptions (Apple, Google, mobile providers) follow those companies' refund policies.

Watch out for these

Amazon Music Unlimited and Amazon Music with Prime are different things: cancelling Unlimited does not touch your Prime membership, and keeping Prime does not stop Unlimited charges - they are billed separately.
Signups can happen by voice through Alexa/Echo devices, which is a common source of unrecognised Amazon Music charges on household accounts.
The statement descriptor is often a generic Amazon line (AMZN Digital, amzn.com/bill) rather than naming Music, so verify the subscription at amazon.com/manageyoursubscriptions before assuming which service is billing you.
An Individual plan discount tied to Prime, or a device-only Single Device plan, can make the same service bill at unfamiliar amounts - check which plan tier the settings page shows before and after cancelling.

After you cancel: make sure it stuck

Recheck Your Amazon Music Settings or amazon.com/manageyoursubscriptions and confirm the subscription shows an end date and no renewal.
After the end date, confirm Unlimited-only titles gray out - that is the expected sign the plan actually ended.

No. Amazon Music with Prime is bundled into a Prime membership at no extra cost, while Music Unlimited is a separate paid subscription with a bigger on-demand catalog. Cancelling Unlimited leaves Prime and its included music tier untouched.

Why am I being charged for Amazon Music when I have Prime?
